| Summary / Zusammenfassung | New treatments of Alzheimer's disease are capable of removing toxic agents from the patients' brains. However, their lost cognitive abilities are not restored by the treatment. The Institutes of Robotics and Intelligent Systems (D-MAVT) and Neuroinformatics (D-BIOL) of the ETH Zurich are collaborating with clinicians of the University Hospital of Zurich to develop a system allowing early dementia patients to train and recover their lost cognitive abilities. This so-called Cognimat is a Virtual Reality based system, in which patients can train and restore their cognitive functions in a virtual environment performing functional tasks of activities of daily living. | ||||
