| Summary / Zusammenfassung | The tendon of the supraspinatus muscle is the most commonly ruptured rotator cuff tendon. Repair is known to improve abduction strength and to relief pain. There is evidence that the abduction strength increases, if pain is relieved artificially by subacromial injections of anesthetics in tendinopathic shoulders. However, the role of pain as an interacting or confounding factor on abduction strength after repair of the isolated supraspinatus tendon rupture is not known. The objective of this study is to investigate whether pain relief is the main actor in the improvement of abduction strength, seen at tear and after repair of the isolated supraspinatus tendon rupture. | ||||||
