| Summary / Zusammenfassung | In the presence of a functioning deltoid muscle, reversal of the ball and socket role of the humerus and the glenoid in a so-called reverse total shoulder arthroplasty (RTSA) is clinically successful in restoring lost overhead function despite irreparable rotator cuff tearing. RTSA, however, has been reported to be associated with a complication rate which is fourfold that of conventional total shoulder arthroplasty. Purpose: it is the purpose of this study to identify patients with complications of implanted RTSA needing sugical revision and to report causes, risk factors for complications indicating revision and outcome of the revision procedure. |
