| Summary / Zusammenfassung | Damage to the central nervous system, arising from trauma or disease, fre-quently results in serious disability. In particular, dysfunction of the motor system can mean a loss of continence and mobility. Such conditions affect large numbers of patients, of all ages. The neuralPRO research is designed to improve continence and mobility in this population through major advan-ces in neural prosthesis technology. The systems that emerge from this pro-ject will offer physical and psychological benefits for this large patient group, resulting in greater independence and less frequent hospitalization. | ||||
