| Summary / Zusammenfassung | The mammalian spinal cord is the first stage of sensory processing in the central nervous system. It is involved in several reflex pathways, processing of somatosensation and proprioception, and it is an important center in the pain pathway. So far the intact spinal cord has been mostly inaccessible to high-resolution imaging. In this project we aim to image the morphology and function of various cell types using modern fluorescence microscopy. Our goal is to reveal principles of normal processing in spinal cord circuits and to also investigate what happens under pathological conditions. Weitere Informationen |
